Postwar Japan Moving Image Archive

The Postwar Japan Moving Image Archive is a nonprofit organization that preserves and presents postwar Japanese experimental cinema, video art, media art, documentaries, and other works of film as art. In addition to the works of film themselves, the archive is also dedicated to preserving and presenting written materials related to the works. Currently the Postwar Japan Moving Image Archive is in the preparatory stages, but it is scheduled to commence activities as a full-fledged nonprofit organization in 2014.

The following are selected works and related archival materials presented by Postwar Japan Moving Image Archive. The digitization of these materials was supported by JSPS KAKENHI Grant Number 24720048.
