Carolina Ponce de León is a Colombian curator, art critic, and cultural manager. She was Arts Advisor, Direction of Arts, Ministry of Culture, Art Director at the Biblioteca Luis Ángel Arango (1984-94), curator of the Museo del Barrio (New York, 1996-98) and director of the Galería de la Raza (San Francisco, 1999-2011). Her publications include El Efecto Mariposa: Ensayos Críticos sobre arte y cultura en Colombia 1985-2000 (IDCT, 2004) and articles for specialized catalogs and magazines. She has been a professor at the postgraduate programs of Visual Critic and Curatorial Studies of California College of the Arts, San Francisco, and advisor of the postgraduate program in History and Theory of Art from the San Francisco Art Institute.
