Amalie Goul Dueholm

Amalie Goul Dueholm is a postdoctoral fellow at Lahore University of Management Sciences in Lahore, Pakistan whose love of Hindi cinema is best illustrated by her aspiration to knit a collection of colourful, patterned jumpers to match Rishi Kapoor’s. Her research and teaching lie at the intersection of cultural production and politics, with particular attention to the entanglements of gender and sexuality with citizenship, law, and state-making. Her current research project examines the social processes of law by attending to how contemporary Hindi cinema dramatise everyday encounters with the law. Her classes have covered various topics such as screen mothers, South Asian cinemas, global media practices, and the politics of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Before joining LUMS, Amalie completed her PhD in Comparative Literature at the University of Washington, Seattle with graduate certificates in Feminist Studies, South Asia studies, and Cinema and Media Studies.
