In this interview, Belarusian curators Aleksei Borisionok and Anna Chistoserdova discuss the recent political upheavals in Belarus and their impact on the local art scene.
Aleksei Borisionok is a curator, writer and organizer who currently lives and works in Minsk and Vienna. He received a master’s degree in Visual and Cultural Studies from the European Humanities University in Vilnius, Lithuania, and a master’s degree in Curating Art from Stockholm University in Sweden. He is a member of the artistic research group Problem Collective and the art collective Work Hard! Play Hard! He writes about art and politics for various journals, catalogues, and online platforms. His writings have been published in Partisan, L’Internationale Online, Moscow Art Magazine, Springerin, Hjärnstorm, Paletten, and syg.ma, among others. His current research is focused on the temporalities of post-socialism.
